Start On Line

With the economy in the shitter and many people worried about their jobs and paychecks, a lot of you have been asking me if they really could make some extra money from a blog online?

Simple answer: Yes. Long answer: Hell yes, if you do it right. And that is the key. Doing it right. Using this website as an example. I spend very little time on its care and feeding. Yet it makes me $50 to $200 a month. It really helps when an old curmudgeon, keyboard dom rips on me and sends a ton of traffic to here. Now imagine how much it could make if I spent time with it???!!

Keys to Success
The keys to a successful adult blog is three things.
1) A good Domain Name
2) A good topic related to the domain name
3) Proper care and feeding
4) A great webhosting service

Now this domain name has been active for almost a decade.  So the search engines know its here and that helps.  Plus the topic and the content (articles, links and all that) relate very well to the domain name.  Google really likes that.

Now if I had BDSM in the domain name and had posted articles about gardening and plants, Google and the other search engines would hold that against me.  Keeping Google happy is very important to a new website, actually any website.  In the beginning search engines will account for a majority of your traffic or visitors.

Next up is the content.  One of the problems I have is not posting enough.  My saving grace is the active age of the domain name.  Either way, you need to post articles and information relevant to the website name and purpose on a regular basis.  So chose something you can write passionately about.

You don’t have to be an expert.  there are a lot of successful blogs by people learning a new trade or a new skill.  The blog is their online journal and you get to read along as they improve. Plus you don;t have to be a English major.  write like you talk and be friendly.  Not formal.  People hate to read a blog like they are reading a newspaper.

The more reasons you give the search engine spiders to come back, the better they will rank you in the searches. So post something new on a frequent basis.  Try to do so at least once a week.  With WordPress, you can write a post today, but have it publish at a later date. So you could write a lot of posts all at once, and set to publish at later intervals.

I am Not A Lawyer… However, I do Know This::::  If you want an adult blog with an adult theme;  meaning you are going to say and show things you can’t show your boss or mother, play it safe by putting it  behind a warning page.    If you are going to post pictures that show “pink” or nudity in general, get a models release and include what’s called a “2257″ compliance statement Here is a 2257 Overview from the Department of Justice.  Even if it’s your wife, get a release!

WebHosting.
Many hosting companies frown upon Adult websites.  read the fine print…  Some dance around them and the Daddy webhosters like to make life rough for the owners if they get too busy.  I use Hostgator and DreamHost.  Both are excellent webhosts with great service.

HostGator is rated as one of the best in the business and has 24/7 service with great rates. Their terms of service make it clear that as long as you are legal and not posting kiddie porn or such, they have no problems with adult content.

Obviously this is a primer.  A brief look at it all.  Your results will vary and yes the link is an affiliate links.  That’s called making a living and I apreciate everyone honoring that!  Thank you
